Positive Arts Presents “Up In Palace” A mural by Graffiti Artists Mr Cenz, Solo one, Aero, Shucks, Pure one and Dane
A collection of artists from Graffiti/Street Art Company 'Positive Arts' have collaborated to bring you a large new mural in Crystal Palace. We spent 3 days brightening up a run down hoardings on Church Road, Crystal Palace, bringing a new lease of life to the area and showcasing some real Graffiti Art to the public. The response from locals and visitors was overwhelmingly positive especially during a week of riots.
"Positive Arts is one of the first, most respected and recommended Graffiti Art/Street Art companies in the UK. We have been empowering and inspiring people since 1988 with our artwork and uniquely educational and engaging approach to projects, workshops and programmes.
Through our positive and people centred ethos we aim to bring happiness, pride and change to communities/individuals and to transform the negative public perception of Graffiti Art/Street Art.

Thought I'd seen them somewhere before, but my point exactly.
What Has Disney's UP got to do with CP?
Any idea who commissioned it?
The characters are from Disney's UP, but Julian AKA Mr Cenz can easily create his own ones and has done so many times. Maybe this was part of the commission brief.
However, I feel that an opportunity was missed in creating something relevant historically or geographically for the area. The new piece seems to be a promotional piece for Positive Arts, and it is great quality, but means nothing to locals really. It resembles the Grand Canyon to me, and who are those charachters? Why not represent local characters? There are plenty of them!
Was this piece commissioned and who paid for it? If Positive Arts did it for free - I'll take this all back, although I think it could have been 'positiver' (is that a word?).
