A CRYSTAL PALACE restaurant has been given a five star rating for its hygiene.

Deepak Thapa, owner of the Gurkha Cottage on Westow Street, says the certificate awarded by Croydon council and the Food Standards Agency reflects the restaurant's high standard and how it is run.

He prides himself on the food, the service. the family-friendly atmosphere, a strong background in the hospitality industry and the main items on the Gurkha Cottage menu.

These include lamb momo; Sherpa chicken; Gurkha chicken; Quati Kukhura (chicken and beans) and the speciality chicken dish Piro Kukhura

Deepak was manager when the inspectors visited the shop but has since taken over as owner.

Deepak, who is planning to work for local charities hosting various themed charity nights in his own restaurant has also kindly offered up to 20per cent discount for customers (collection only) and 15 per cent off for Chamber of Commerce members.
