Karen Moran, the former Green Parliamentary Candidate for Beckenham has jumped ship and joined the Conservative Party. David Cameron has transformed the party with his leadership, green agenda and passion to make a difference for Great Britain. The Conservative Party has changed and Jason Hadden embodies that change and that’s why I am delighted to pledge my support for him and his campaign to be the next MP for Croydon North”
Jason confirmed: “Karen is a political heavy weight locally and has proved her passion and dedication in particular to the people of Crystal Palace with her campaigning first for the Park and now with the Campaign for a Cinema. The Conservative Party is delighted to have her input and her knowledge not only on green policies but also in supporting the needs of local residents in the Triangle.”
Green Party in disarray
Karen continues “ I joined the Green Party in 1999 following the huge campaign with Crystal Palace Park with which I have been and remain very much involved. In 2001 I stood for the Green Party in Beckenham at the General Election. Following this I stood in the Local Authority elections in Crystal Palace in 2002, 2006 and in the by election in 2007.”
Jason Hadden stressed: ”Karen is one of the finest local politicians in Crystal Palace. I am delighted that she has joined the Conservative Party and agreed to be our candidate in Crystal Palace in the local elections next May. She is an absolute asset for our Party and the Green Party must be is complete disarray having lost such an impressive local candidate.”

If the Conservatives believe that environmentalis m is a big issue for the electorate and they can gain votes by adopting more green policies then good luck to them I say.
Personally I think it's a shame that politics is so issue focused rather than basing their policies on an ideological base. But that's the case for all three of the main political parties.
