The Crystal Palace Triangle is set to get two new pedestrian crossings - and both could be installed by the end of September.
Croydon council are ready to give the green light to a crossing on Church Road which will be situated between Belvedere Road and the top of Anerley Hill.
And Lambeth council are set to install a crossing in Westow Hill by the Holly Bush
giving a third crossing 'arm' at the Westow Hill/Westow Street/Central Hill/Gipsy Hill junction.
The Church Road crossing will be.situated opposite 51 Church Road and the neighbouring Nightingale Court at 53 Church Road. The move follows a petition - started by Graham Axford, the Liberal Democrat candidate for Upper Norwood ward in last year's Croydon council elections - which attracted more than 1,000 signatures.
The petition was presented to Croydon council in July 2010. Four parking bays will go with one parking space for a disabled person being replaced by the crossing.
A Croydon council spokesman said: "We could start on site as early as September subject to no objections to removal of on-street parking being received."
A Lambeth council spokesman said: " We are going to install a pedestrian facility across the north eastern arm of the junction in response to local road safety concerns."The works should take place in September."
Lambeth have also just completed installation of the Gipsy Hill 20mph scheme which is bounded by Gipsy Hill (incl), Central Hill and Salters Hill.
