Glengarry Glen Ross at Bromley Little TheatreBromley Little Theatre presents David Mamet's foul mouthed story of desperate salesman. Jack Lemon and Kevin Spacey couldn't make the auditions but it does have three of Crystal Palace's finest resident actors so go check it out. The performances run from Friday 19th Feb to Saturday 27th Feb 2010.

To say the commission-paid salesman of Mitch and Murray’s Chicago real estate office are under-performing and under-pressure - with the exception of high-flying Roma - is an understatement. So much so they are all ‘as of now, fired’ and given just one week to get themselves on the sales-board to regain their jobs. First prize is a Cadillac, second prize is a set of steak knives ...and, third prize is ‘Your Fired!’
In a cut-throat business where you are only as good as your last ‘pitch’, burned out, and worn out, Shelley Levene is going through a dry month - as is George Aaronow and Dave Moss. They blame the bad leads, the company and Williamson, the office manager. In fact, typically, they blame everyone but themselves and their desperation will drive them to any lengths in order to ‘get on the board’ ...beg, steal, lie, con, threaten and bribe.

David Mamet’s true-to-life, gritty and brilliant sales drama is already a legendary part of modern theatre. The 1990s award-winning film version boasted a star-studded cast of Hollywood A-listers and is widely considered as the greatest sales movie of all-time. So make sure you book your tickets to find out what all the fuss is about but, be warned, this drama contains very strong language throughout.
Glengarry Glen Ross will be BLT’s entry into The Bromley Theatre Guild’s Full-Length Play Festival for 2010.

I should probably point out that Glengarry Glen Ross is famous for containing some VERY strong languague which led to the cast of the film version referring to it as "Death of a F*****G Salesman".

Tickets can be bought via the Bromley Little Theatre box office on 07917 853621

I went to see this last night. I gotta say I loved it. Not for the faint hearted as it's full of swearing and blinding throughout, which I totally enjoyed I must say, but a fantastic rendition of the film and play.

All characters are amazing especially Moss and the Machine originally played by Jack Lemon and Al Pacino in the movie. It really captured the intense and totally hostile world of the door to door salesman originally written by David Mamett this is a fantastically directed and executed play.

There is only one, well, actually 3 nice guys in it if you count the policeman, but i'll let you work that out.
