Our Mailouts (we've got issues!)
If you post an article or an event to the Crystal Palace Local our very clever top-of-the-range computer automatically ads it to the the current mailouts.
- Monday Mailout (sent out every Monday around midday to all users)
- Friday Music Mailout (Just for gigs but also sent to all users every Friday around midday)
- CPL Paper directory (This is our paper version of the directory with a few local stories, what's on and a rated directory. Printed at the beginning of every month and placed in verious venues, cafes and shops) soon to be home delivered.
Who can use this site?
Anyone with services local to Crystal Palace, London SE19 or events that can be reached by the residents of the above may post freely to the site. If you are a hairdresser based in Florida USA maybe try the Florida Local instead.
Articles? What can I post?
The CPL is effectively a magazine style tabloid for local issues, news and information. We want to encourage local writers, and such like to share what they know with the community. Here are a few do's and dont's when submitting articles.
Do submit articles about:
- Local issues & groups
- Editorials on your business i.e. 'why you love being a gardener'
- Campaigns and updates
- Local history & people
- Your profession i.e. tricks of the trade
- Business guidance
- Biographies
- Short stories
- Special Offers i.e. 'Lunchtime Meal Deals 2 for 1'
- in fact anything you might find interesting yourself...
Don't submit articles about:
- Offensive or unsavory material, keep it family friendly
- Articles that may be degrading to local persons, services or businesses
Parish Pump (New)
(News in brief, Letters, Small Ads, Special Offers)
The Parish Pump is just one of the sections you can post articles to, in editorial terms it was originally a place to post anything else you may wish to share with your local community that does not fit in the main sections. Here you can post letters, special offers, news in brief or small ads for your business. In fact anything that you like that may be of interest to Crystal Palace.
Directory
Negative Reviews within the directory (Please read)
Everyone has a bad day but please think twice about leaving negative reviews, often new businesses or services when starting up are on a steep learning curve and can make mistakes and a bad review can be a kick in the teeth. We want to promote positive vibes here on the CPL but also be honest to the locals so we can only allow reviews posted by registered users (that means your name will be on it!)
Post your Events
What can I post?
Anything you think is reachable by the good people of Crystal Palace & Norwood using reasonable transport. If you are running school fate in Wigam, maybe use the Wigam local! If you have a Yoga class in Penge? Go for it! All posts automatically get sent out via the Mailouts.

- Important! In order to have your event posted you must state clearly:
- The Event (i.e. Custard Pie Fight)
- The Location (i.e. Upper Norwood Library, Westow Street SE19)
- The Date & Time (This is automatically added)
- The Category (i.e. Family & Kids)

We're all wired up you know! Nearly all posts automatically get added to our Facebook and Twitter feeds.
